Creative Ways To Hide Wires And Cords In Your Apartment

Today, it is almost impossible to have an apartment that is not filled with gadgets and electronics. The primary issue that many people have with these convenient electronics is the wiring and cables that they use.

There is nothing worse than having wires and cords scattered around your apartment, making it look untidy and creating hazards. Fortunately, there are a number of creative ways you can hide the cords and wires in your apartment.

Using Binder Clips

Binder clips are something that you can buy from any stationery store, and they have many uses other than holding paper together.

If you have long wires that form loops on the floor of your apartment, you can use the binder clips to rein them in. Folding the wires into smaller bundles and then using the clips to secure the bundles is a simple way of clearing up some of the cords around your apartment.  

Additionally, you can use binder clips to organize your cords and wires so they do not get tangled. You can fold the wires and then secure them with the clip to neatly rest in your drawers. With this organization method, you will never have to worry about your wires being tangled.

The Book Arrangement

If you have wires that run along a side board or lead up to a wall-mounted TV, you should try the book arrangement to hide them. This is a very simple way of hiding wires as you only need to stack books across the console. You need to systematically arrange the books to ensure that there are no wires sticking out.

The Magicians Cloth

If you have a desk that does not have a solid wood back, you will have a lot of wires in clear view that you might want to hide. One of the easiest ways to do this is to use a piece of cloth. The color or material of the cloth will be personal preference, but it should complement the desk. All you need to do is pin this cloth to the back of the desk and it will hide the wires and sockets. 

Using A Gift Box

A gift box is a great way to hide power strips from sight. If you do not have any gift boxes, you can also use a decorated shoe box. You will need to cut holes in the side of the box for the cables to run and then place the power strip into the box. This will keep the messy strip and all the wires attached to it hidden and it will make it easier to clean around it.

There are many creative ways that you can hide the wires and cords that run around your apartment. Organizing your books is a simple way of hiding cords that cannot move and you can use binder clips to shorten long wires. If all else fails, you can also incorporate the wires into your decoration!
