The history of Hart Park goes back to 1921. Wauwatosa’s Common Council purchased 19.5 acres of land on the Menomonee River. At the time it was informally called City Park.
In 1960, to commemorate Wauwatosa’s 125th Anniversary, the Common Council named the park Charles Hart Park to recognize the city’s founder. Mr. Hart constructed the first structure in Wauwatosa. It was a mill in what is now the village area.

As I mentioned, the area of Hart Park covers 19.5 acres. It is a home to a great number of amenities for locals and travelers alike to enjoy. Hart Park is located along the Menominee River, allowing visitors to enjoy the sight and sound of glistening water while they are there.
Lovers of sports can play soccer, football, tennis, and more while spending time at the park. One of the amenities Hart Park has to offer is a football field. Several lacrosse teams use this football field as their home field.
There is also a baseball diamond and a number of tennis courts that can be enjoyed as well. A public track is also at this location, allowing individuals to jog, run, or walk at leisure. The track is very popular among those who enjoy getting in an evening run.
Music enthusiasts can listen to concerts at the stage throughout the year. Other events are held at the stage area as well.
