Ways to Entertain Your Guests this Summer

Summer is coming quickly and it is important to take advantage of the warm weather while it lasts. It is a great time of the year to have your friends and family over for a get together. In the winter it is hard to fit everyone in your apartment, but now that there is no snow on the ground, you can utilize your patio, balcony and the local parks to entertain your guests. Here are some tips on how to entertain your friends and family this summer.

Come up with a Theme for Your Get Together/Party

Coming up with a theme makes any get together more fun. All of your guests could dress up in Hawaiian attire and bring Hawaiian themed dishes. Other options could be Star Wars themed, Disney themed, sports themed, or patriotic colors for Independence Day. This is sure to wow your guests.

Make Sure to have Refreshing Drinks Available

In the summer it can get pretty warm. With all the talking and excitement it is important to have thirst quenching drinks available. Some great options would be to blend your own fruit juices or ices, or make a pitcher of homemade lemonade or iced tea.

Would you like to have a fancy looking pitcher of water? Slice up some fresh cucumbers, oranges, or a few handfuls of fresh berries to add to the pitcher. Be sure to have plain water, soda, and alcoholic beverages (for adults only) available as well.

Create Areas for Conversation

It is a known fact that individuals tend to flock to areas with food. Set out trays of snacks in areas where you would like your guests to be seated and have conversations. This could be in the living room, outside on the patio or balcony, or at a picnic table. All of your guests will be well fed and happy.

Do not let the setting of the sun get in the way of your party. Keep the fun going into the night with a selection of dazzling lights. Some options would be using lanterns, votive candles, solar lamps, or twinkle lights. These things are sure to create a pleasing atmosphere and keep the party going.

Add Music for Everyone’s Enjoyment

Come up with a party playlist with music from different eras that everyone will enjoy. The 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are all music eras the people enjoy and often bring back memories of another time. The music genres are vast and consider the guests that will be in attendance when picking out the music.
